Dr Meei Yeung

MBBS, FRACS
Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgeon
Melbourne

Dr Yeung is dedicated exclusively to the sub-specialty of endocrine surgery, which is the surgical management of thryoid and parathyroid conditions.

Dr Yeung graduated from University of Tasmania in 1995. Having completed her training in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004, Dr Yeung then spent 2 years of post-fellowship training in Sydney, with a specific focus on Endocrine Surgery. She returned to Melbourne in early 2007 and started practice in the Monash University Endocrine Surgery Unit at The Alfred Hospital. In 2016, Dr Yeung undertook a Sabbatical to spend time with the Yale Endocrine Surgery Unit. She has recently spent time in the United States learning about autofluorescence of parathyroid glands and its application in endocrine surgery.

Dr Yeung consults at Cabrini Malvern and operates in Cabrini Brighton and Malvern.

Dr Yeung also works in the Monash University Endocrine Surgery Unit at The Alfred Hospital and is happy to see uninsured patients.

“Having worked as a surgeon for more than 20 years, I believe that each patient should have their own unique treatment plan, tailored to their needs and goals. I like to take the time to get to know each one of my patients—so that we can work together to develop the best possible plan for them, which doesn’t always mean surgery.

My goal as a surgeon is to provide my patients with all the information they need to make informed decisions about their treatment, so that when they leave my office, they feel confident in the choices I have made for them.

I am committed to providing the highest quality care. To me, that means being up-to-date on the latest research and technology so that I can offer the best possible care for my patients. It also means being able to perform surgery safely, effectively, and efficiently.”
